Long Island Rough Riders Launch Redesigned Website
Men and Women’s team kick off 2009 season May 9

Plainview, NY (April 27, 2009) – With the 2009 season just around the corner, the Long Island Rough Riders debuted their new website today. The new redesigned website is easy to navigate and will feature more content for each of the club’s various initiatives.

“With an average of over 500,000 hits per month we decided that it was necessary to improve our website functionality, said Rough Riders General Manager Flavio Ferri. “The challenge that we faced was to facilitate the Men’s and Women’s team along with all of our grassroots initiatives.”

In a collaborative effort, the Long Island Rough Riders utilized the services of three prominent companies to help build their website. Demosphere International, a partner of United Soccer Leagues, the provider of both the PDL and W Leagues, provided the web-based tools that allowed the Rough Riders to redesign their website.

“Working with the Rough Riders, one of the oldest soccer franchises in North America, has been very exciting. The new design is spectacular and is a great way to open the 2009 season,” said Demosphere Marketing Director Sean Rose.

The Rough Riders also used the capabilities of EZ Facility, a Long Island-based company that provides web-based facility management and schedule making programs for leagues and tournaments.

“I’m very excited to see that the new website will make our league and tournament information much more accessible to those interested,” said Rough Riders league director, Mike Pugliese. “We’re hoping to build on what we’ve done in the past and add detailed statistics to further the experience of each child who participates.”

The Orchard Design Group from Glen Cove was primarily responsible for the graphic design of the website. “The Rough Riders new website will feature larger and better quality photos as well as updated graphic designs that will really help the overall look and layout,” said Orchard Design Group President Roberto DeLuca.

In a step to make the website interactive with fans, the Rough Riders have added a Facebook group where users can be instantly notified updates about upcoming events and news. “Fans will find information easier to access and will become better informed about the Rough Riders organization as a whole”, said Peter Zaratin President of the Rough Riders. In addition to a Facebook group, a new YouTube video page will have the latest videos from the Rough Riders men’s, women’s and Junior Rough Riders games including interviews with players, coaches, and game highlights.
